So was anyone paying attention to my new little list? Do you remember this post?

Yes, the list at the right includes several knit projects. My Amazon booklist includes Knitting Rules!: The Yarn Harlot’s Bag of Knitting Tricks. That’s right, I’m knitting. I can’t hardly believe it myself.

To tell you the truth, I’d have figured this out years ago if someone had just told me about Continental Knitting. For me it was incredibly easier to pick up coming from way too much experience with crochet. It was the right hand yarn control and the throwing that was goofing me up all these years. Once I saw it done by the continental method, from the videos at Knitting Help I had the trick I needed to make it work. Honestly, holding the yarn on the left and picking instead of throwing, it’s not all that terribly different from crochet.

So in my usual fashion, I’ve jumped in with both feet. Maybe that’s with both of V’s feet actually, since after one tacky looking practice scarf, three fourths of a baby poncho and most of another scarf, I’ve already started a pair of socks. And it’s working too, the first one is nearly done and it actually does look like a sock.

Now I’m not quite sure if developing this new skill will actually give me more completed projects, or just more projects in progress. Maybe having it listed for all of you to see will hold me more accountable. Then again, maybe all of you out there are just figments of my imagination and this whole site is just more of me talking to myself. Hmmm…….
