Not Only a Mom

Words from a whole person.

Half a Pair

I did it, I made one sock. That is, I knitted one sock. I am suitably impressed with myself, but not too much. I will brag louder and longer when I have completed two socks to make a pair. I have at least cast on for the second one, and I even think I may have done a decent job of matching the stripes, but of course only time will tell.

The sock is for V, and he tried it on last night. It actually fits, just a touch loose maybe, and turns around the heel like it should and works it’s way around the toes nicely. He was actually a little reluctant to give it back so I could create a mate for it.

I will risk public humiliation (in the case sock #2 never appears) by displaying the half pair now.

One Sock

I’ll give the pertinent construction details when the whole pair makes it’s debut.

I also have a finished project with which to build the list. It’s a bit of a cheat, just a simple crochet Q hook scarf for TR. But it is a finished project no matter how quick and dirty it was. And it will keep TR warm on the chilly mornings as he’s waiting for the bus at the ridiculously early hour that it arrives.

TR's Scarf

It’s just 10 sc’s across, worked with a Q hook and three strands of Caron Simply Soft, two black and one white. It cleared out some stash yarn that I’ve probably had for five years or so.

I’m off to build the sidebar list now!
