Not Only a Mom

Words from a whole person.

An Age Old Question

When is it appropriate to start a new project? When all other projects are completed? One-for-one: when one is completed another can be started? Does it really depend on how many projects are in the works? What if the contemplated new project is a necessity and not a luxury item?

Remember, the other day I finished TR’s scarf. A couple of days ago, I finished this simple baby poncho for RM:

Baby Poncho

It’s very simple, just two knitted rectangles sewed together. The yarn is Bernat Baby Coordinates Sweet Stripes, the color is Candy Stripe. I used size 7 bamboo straight needles; I’m really liking the bamboo needles, I don’t drop everything off of them quite as often.

You see, it’s icy and sleeting and about to snow here. We are going to be cooped up in the house for days. Someone is even spreading the rumor we could lose power. Certainly it’s a good time to have one more project to choose from to pass the time. It’s also useful to have something to soothe my nerves when the kids start acting up from the inevitable cabin fever.

I’m contemplating a wool diaper soaker, an infinitely useful item. Sure, I have lots of diaper soakers already, but she goes through lots of diapers, and she’s growing. More soakers are always a good thing. Besides, all my soakers are crocheted, I need knitted ones to round things out.

If it helps my argument any, I also finished these today:

Snickerdoodles

Mmmmmm, snickerdoodles!
