Why Snow Is Better Than Ice
No ice storm rolled through to lock us in this weekend. Instead, we have a lovely five inches of snow today. It’s really very pretty. V started to shovel it off the driveway, but all that accomplished is uncovering the layer of ice still left below it. We decided to just leave it.
The big advantage of snow over ice? Snow people, of course. A couple hours of family play, bundled up outside in the front yard, and we now have this lovely sentinal outside the front door:
We tend to build rather odd snowmen. The bucket on the head is a tradition that goes back many, many years. The copper jello mold buttons are a new innovation. This snow person is dreaming of summer days; note the sandals on his feet.
