Photos, Take Two
Sunday, March 11th, 2007I knew I’d eventually get around to retaking the photos the camera ate. They didn’t come out all that wonderful, but I’m not doing it again. Really, how many times and a person photograph the same thing?
The small projects I keep talking about lately, the ones that give me that nice little sense of accomplishment, are dishcloths. It’s not the fanciest of knitting, but there are a lot of advantages to them. They are small projects, portable, in some cases mindless, on other cases small scale practice of more complicated stitch patterns, infinitely practical, and the yarn for them is really cheap. I’ve done a few lately, thinking ahead for Mother’s Day gifts. Yep, that’s a little out of character for me: actually thinking ahead to something.
I joined the the Monthly Dishcloths Yahoo group for some of these. It adds an extra bit of fun; getting the pattern an bit at a time and working to see what comes out. Here are the two February patterns:

I had so much fun with these, I hunted through the archives and did this one as well. I’m not thrilled with how the varigated yarn pooled on this, so it’s probably destined for the dirty dishes around here.

Then one last one for now, from a pattern I found following links from other members in the group. This is the same yarn as above, but it looks much better in this pattern.

If you count the cloth I gave to V on Valentines Day (my highly romantic gift) that’s five quick and easy completed projects for February. Sounds good doesn’t it?
