Dreaming Up Projects

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

So I have this collection of assorted Noro yarns that I got off of Destash. They are haunting me. I have socks on the needles, and things cut out that need sewed together, a crocheted afghan I haven’t touched in a shameful amount of time, and I’m trying to do the Monthly Dishcloth projects, but this Noro is always in the back of my mind. (Notice I’m not even mentioning all the housework that needs my attention.)

So in my free moments I research. I browse online for patterns, even considering paying for something which I almost never (am able to) do, and read blogs and just generally hunt around looking for ideas. I see a couple things I like, start to formulate a plan in my head, and then I get stuck on the actual execution.

That night, I actually dreamed the answer. I woke up knowing exactly what I wanted the finish item to look like, and exactly how I would do it. I’ve dived in to the project with every spare minute, and so far, so good. It seems to be working out as I planned. Well, there was the 20 inch long panel I frogged yesterday, but no mistake is worthless if you learn something from it. So we shall see what happens from here.

When I make enough progress to photograph something that actually looks like something, I’ll post it. In the meantime, all you nameless souls who I imagine are out there hanging in suspense wondering what I’m up to will just have to hang in suspense wondering what I’m up to.
