Not Only a Mom

Words from a whole person.

For Greensburg, KS

My sweet internet friend Laura has started a little project to bring a bit of comfort to the families of Greensburg, KS who lost everything in the May 4th tornado. Having lived my entire life in the Midwest, I understand that these families are experiencing the worst nightmare most of us only spend our Springtimes worrying about.

Laura is collecting 8″ bias knit wool or wool blend afghan squares to make blankets for these families. It’s a simple thing, the gift of a useful item to let these people know how many out there care for them.

Please visit her post for Rebuilding Greensburg - Block by Block. I believe that many, many people working together and doing little things can make very big things happen.

  1. Tracy I just love you. Thank you for the link and the touching post about this project and the people of Greensburg… really the people of the Midwest who - just as you said - worry about this every spring. What a nightmare.
