Over-motivated?

Sometimes I have a very hard time getting myself motivated to get going on something. Other times, I get going on something and have a very hard time stopping. All I can do then is hope when the momentum fails, I’ve at leasted completed a few of the projects I’ve started. Still, overall, it does keep me entertained.

I spent my long holiday weekend at the sewing machine. Actually, a holiday weekend, or any weekend for that matter, is something of a joke. I’m an At-Home-Mom, one day is pretty much like another around here. Except of course when V is not at work I have one more person whining at me about being bored, and leaving stuff around for me to pick up.

RM like all little ones her age completely outgrows stuff while it’s in the laundry. One day something fits fine, but by the time it makes it around to dress her again it won’t snap or go over her head or allow her to move at all. I shop the thrift stores and garage sales a lot; even if I had the money it’s hard to pay big dollars for things that will only fit for a month or two. But I’m finding a daughter much more fun to sew things for than the boys ever were. There just seem to be a lot more options for her.

So I finished three pairs of shorts, two tops and a dress for her the last few days.

Then I dug through the fabric stash, and shopped the fabric store sales, and came up with some ideas for me too. And more ideas for her. Maybe a few too many ideas.

But I am progressing well. Everything is pre-washed and ready to go. A few things are cut out. And there are plans and needs for all of it. So I think I’ll get back to the machine.
