Today, officially, I now have two teenage boys. SW turned 13 today. He hasn’t been my “little” boy for quite some time though. Already he is an astonishing 5′ 8″ tall, a full inch taller than I am and a good three inches taller than his “big” brother. He is definitely taking after my side of the family and will join his grandfather and uncle in the 6 footer range.

It was an uneventful day for the most part. He does best with quiet and low key; anything too ostentatious doesn’t agree with the nature of a person with Autism. SW’s fondest wishes included video games, with which he has been entertaining himself continually today. I made his favorite tacos and burritos for supper, topped off with a lopsided devil’s food cake. (Sometimes it’s better for me to stick with the box mix stuff and give up on the whole “from scratch” thing.) He was perfectly happy with it though, after all sugar is sugar (no candles or singing, please.)

So another year passes by for him, quietly and according to routine, just the way he likes it. Happy Birthday my little pumpkinhead. We love you.
