Not Only a Mom

Words from a whole person.

Welcome to Day 366

I made it, one year, and I think I’ve juggled the numbers enough to stick around for another. In 365 days I made 170 posts. I received 68 comments (at least ones that weren’t spam or too rude to post.) I included 118 photos. I’ve had 5,511 unique visitors, whatever that means. I got linked to by a couple of popular blogs (once in a good way, and once not so good.)

I didn’t crash the site or kill the template, and did manage to tweak it just a bit. I successfully uploaded and started using three plugins. I learned a few things in HTML, found some great help sites, and can actually use half a dozen codes without looking up how every time.

In the last year I turned 40. I took up knitting, never stopped crocheting, and sewed quite a few things. I’ve bought and sold cars, killed off major appliances, duct taped a few things back together and kept the roof from falling in - figuratively speaking. Pets have come and gone, and come back again. I went camping, did a little hiking here and there. I finished a lot of projects but started even more. I slipped into and fought my way out of several periods of depression. I made new friends. Maybe I didn’t do anything earth shattering like solve world hunger, or even figure out how to manage SW’s hunger, but I did find a pancake recipe he calls “heaven.” Sometimes you really do have to number even the small victories.

Now I have an idea for a book. And I am wondering if I could write a book. One year ago, I wondered if I could keep up a blog for a year. Maybe it is time to think of where to go next.

  1. Happy belated blogiversary! Sounds like you’ve conquered a lot of Bad Situations and created many Good Things over the past 12 months. I’m sending along lots of positive thoughts for you and your family. And I’m glad you made the decision to keep blogging!
