Soft Socks

I finally finished the Quill Lace socks.

These turned out fantastic. I love the pattern; it’s very simple to memorize (being only two rows) but looks just beautiful. The yarn is wonderful as well, it’s Panda Cotton and the color is Vanilla Cream. I agree with what a lot of people say about this yarn, that it splits easily while you are working with it, but that’s not so hard to deal with and the end result is worth it.

I have enough of this yarn for another pair of socks and I’m going to start hunting for a pattern soon. (Maybe I’ll finish the two other pairs of socks I have in the works first, but maybe not.) I definitely would get more of this yarn as well; I love the colorway called Fall Herbs. Just to get carried away in planning ahead, I also want to try the Maisy, corn fiber blend yarn. There are some very pretty colorways in that one; wouldn’t the Indian Corn be fitting to start with?

I took these pictures in a hurry as we were on our way out the door to the baseball game. I have this irrational fear that if I don’t get the pictures taken before I wear the socks for real, that something ridiculous will happen to them. I’m not sure what actually would; perhaps I could spill red dye on my feet or take them off in public for some reason then forget them. They are fine after an evening out though, and they are wonderful to wear. The yarn is very soft, and the socks are cool and comfortable.

RM wasn’t quite sure why I was taking pictures of my feet, but she was quite certain she wanted in on the whole thing.
