Boring, But
Sometimes you really do have to talk about the weather. While the conversation could get repetitive and boring, the weather itself is not.
Last week, on Tuesday night I believe, the temperatures dropped down in to the single digits with below 0 wind chills. On Wednesday it started getting warmer; lots warmer. The solid layer of ice covered with granulated snow started to melt. By the weekend, we had nothing left but mud puddles and temperatures in the 60’s.
We took advantage of it of course. Like many of my neighbors we went out and took down all the outside holiday decorations. We took a stroll on sidewalks that were positively crowded. We chatted with friends and neighbors and dodged kids on bicycles.
Today is grey and overcast, nearing 70 degrees, with a possibility of thunderstorms for the afternoon and evening. Everyone said the weekend was “springlike,” but honestly the impending storm atmosphere of today is what I associate more with Spring.
Tomorrow the forecast high is a good 25 degrees cooler than today, with a chance of snow instead of rainstorms.
It’s an old saying, but an easy one to guess the roots of. “If you don’t like the weather, wait 15 minutes. It’ll change.”
