Yes, it was my birthday yesterday, a quiet one but a good one. Nothing special, but no bad luck as often happens on my day every year. I recently learned that in Germany, it is considered bad luck to wish someone a Happy Birthday before the day. I successfully avoided early good wishes this year, and it seems to have paid off.
And yes, my life is a bit of a mess now as always. Still always broke, always worried about keeping food on the table and the house from falling apart. Just one slowly dying car between my husband and myself. There are challenges with the kids and medications and typical toddler things and schools. I have worries and fears and all of that.
But I am having a good time. I have a job I enjoy very much. My children are wonderful and loving and amazing people. While we barely keep our heads above water, we are still above - and that is saying more than many people can. I have a large groups of friends, and very many especially good friends with good souls who are there for me when I need them. So I have love and friendship and support in my life. I am a lucky person!
